How we work

Good paper comes from working the material slowly.

At Pulp & Threads, paper is made from cotton fibre that is pulped, formed sheet by sheet, pressed and dried in the open. Every sheet carries small differences in texture, weight and edge, and we keep them rather than press them out. Everything we make from that paper is finished by hand, in batches we can work through properly.

Our Story

A workshop built around making paper by hand.

Pulp & Threads grew out of an interest in how paper is actually made, and in what it can become once it leaves the drying line. At our workshop in Chiluvuru, fibre is pulped, formed, pressed and dried into paper that still carries evidence of how it was made.
